For the Eurocentrically Imposed Midwinter Festival

As it’s the week before Christmas, I just wanted to extend greetings for the season, so Merry Christmas Everyone!

Wait… what’s that you say? Huh?! You’re telling me that saying “Merry Christmas” is a politically incorrect statement? What happened to the old-fashioned, gay (oops, slipped up again!) I mean politically feeling better than usual… Actually, just (I’m not going to swear, I’m not going to swear, I’m not going to swear…) ! You know what I mean? I meant the time when families were able to enjoy Christmas day as a religious event or a secular holiday, where nobody sued companies for writing “Merry Christmas” on t-shirts, and the general spirit of Christmas was spread throughout the world! (okay, that was a bit cheesy)

In fact, I’m not even going to take sides in this fight over Christmas v. Holidays. I’m not offended when somebody greets me with a “Merry Christmas” or a “Happy Holidays.” (I just wished it happened more often… ) I am not a Christian.* I’ve studied and believe I understand both sides of the issue. During that time I decided one thing: you’re both acting like spoiled children. Happy? Hope I’ve filled you all with the same Christmas cheer you’re spreading in the rest of the world.

Because I wasn’t trying to hurt your feelings, I hope you all enjoy the Eurocentrically imposed midwinter festival.

(And no, no matter what the picture “says,” I don’t approve of smoking.)

*I’m not really anything religion wise. I have great respect for Christianity and for nearly all religions.
